SchoolSense

Classroom environmental sensors, built for every learner.

We design environmental sensors and a web platform for Australian classrooms — co-designed with the students and educators who use the rooms, formatted as the compliance and inclusion evidence schools already have to compile.

What we believe

Every learner deserves a classroom designed for them.

Acoustic conditions affect every Australian learner — and the impact compounds for students processing English as an additional language or dialect, those navigating hearing or auditory processing differences, and those whose nervous systems experience sound differently. Yet the conditions go unmeasured. The evidence inclusion teachers compile by hand for the NCCD ten-week cycle is the same evidence the rooms themselves could capture, automatically.

We build sensors that close that gap — continuous, ambient signals to the people in the room, and objective, defensible evidence to the people responsible for it. Co-designed with the students and educators who use the spaces. Calibrated against the standards Australian schools are measured against.

SchoolSense Sound

A wall-mounted classroom acoustic sensor and web platform. Continuous dB(A) and reverberation, silent ambient feedback, and NCCD-grade evidence built in.

  • Continuous classroom monitoring
  • NCCD evidence auto-compiled
  • No raw audio leaves the device
  • QED v5.0 metrics, calibrated

On the horizon

One sensor today. A family of them on the way.

In research

SchoolSense Light

Lux, flicker, glare. The strongest next sensing dimension — directly tied to visual sensory sensitivity.

In exploration

SchoolSense Air

Temperature and CO₂ are well-served by existing classroom sensors.
