University support

Learn how to attack the work, not just get through it.

Academic support for university students — decoding assignment briefs, writing that holds an argument, referencing that makes sense, and a study strategy that survives a full unit load. Taught by a registered teacher who spends every week explaining how assessment actually works.

  • In person or online
  • No monthly package required
  • Book by the hour

What I help with

Support built around the skills, not the syllabus.

Support is discipline-general. I won’t pretend to teach your third-year unit content — I’ll teach you how to attack it. The skills below transfer across every unit you’ll ever take, which is exactly why they’re worth building properly once.

Academic writing

Structuring an argument, holding a thesis across a whole piece, and writing in the register your discipline expects.

Assignment briefs

Working out what the task is actually asking, what the marker is looking for, and the order to tackle it in.

Referencing & citation

APA, Harvard, AGLC, Vancouver — how the system works, not just how to format one entry. Including when and why to cite.

Research skills

Finding sources worth using, reading them efficiently, and judging what's credible enough to build an argument on.

Report & thesis structure

Planning long-form work so it holds together — sections that earn their place, and a through-line a marker can follow.

Study strategy

Managing a full unit load: what to prioritise, how to revise so it sticks, and how to work at a sustainable pace.

Exam preparation

Preparing for the format you'll actually face — timed conditions, short answer, essay-under-pressure, open book.

Where I stand

I’ll teach you to write it. I won’t write it for you.

Support means teaching a student to produce their own work — planning, drafting, feedback, and revision. Assessment work is never completed on a student’s behalf.

That’s not a disclaimer — it’s the reason this works. Support that produces the work for you leaves you exactly where you started, one assignment later, with the same gap and more to lose. Everything here is built to make the next assignment easier without me in the room.

Who this is for

Whether you’re a first-year or finishing a thesis.

Studying in a second language

Doing a demanding degree while still building academic English is two hard jobs at once. We work on the language your discipline actually uses — the vocabulary, the sentence patterns, what a marker means by “critically evaluate” — so your thinking lands the way you meant it.

Learning differently

If you have an accessibility plan, or just know how you work best, we build around it. Eight years supporting students with a range of learning needs means starting from how you process and organise — not from a method that assumes everyone doesn’t.

Also common: coming back to study after time away, moving from high school into first year, or hitting the point where the writing expectations jumped and nobody explained the new rules.

University pricing

Priced for how university actually works.

University work comes in bursts — an assignment brief lands, an exam block hits, a thesis chapter is due. So there's no monthly package here, and no upfront diagnostic to clear before we start. Book the hours you need, or a short course around a single deadline.

$120

per hour

In person or online. 1.5–2 hour sessions billed pro-rata.

$120

one-off · optional

We go through the brief or unit outline together, work out exactly what's being asked and where the support is needed, and set a plan for the weeks ahead.

Optional — start here if you want a plan first, or skip it and book hours.

$840

6 sessions over 2–3 weeks

6 × 1-hour sessions across 2–3 weeks, with prep and resources included.

The short intensive course above works just as well for a university assignment or exam block.

All prices in Australian dollars. Not registered for GST — no GST is charged. Looking for high school tutoring instead? See the full pricing page.
